Short film- Spy Mission
This is our tryout of using the cameras and the editing software, we have called this short clip 'Spy mission'
You can guess the genre from the title which which is about spies meaning thriller and more action based film similar to James bond.
Pre-Production:
- We had written down all the possible genres we could do in our school area, we excluded romance or horror as we don't have appropriate location for it we also agreed on not including comedy as we would have to come up with a funny script which would be hard with the time we had given.
- We thought of the Genre: thriller/action
- We focused on who is going to act and who is the cinematographer
- The location was discussed which made us choose if the genre works with the setting
- The character names were discussed and then we selected who plays what role
- We created a story board so that we knew after filming how to order our film scenes.
- We had included all the camera angles and discussed what angles should we use for what scene such as close ups, zooming out, shoulder point of view and first person point of view.
- We searched for props such as tissue paper and a computer which were needed for our scenes
- We gathered equipment such as cameras, tripod and SD card
- Finley had gotten permission to film and use the music room
Production:
- We have chosen to use various scenes to film, we filmed all the scenes we needed in one location and then moved on to other to save time
- We had made double takes of the scenes in case the first one wasn't good enough
- We had chosen and used a variety of camera angles so each scene is different such as when running up the stairs we had used the cinematographer to run behind her to make the scene more dramatic and realistic, we had close ups such as the one on the villains face to emphasise that hes not a joke and to show that he's serious unlike if it was a full body shot.
- We used props such as a cloth to show the realism and make it more believable
- The camera was mostly hand held due to all the action, we had the camera follow the main character to show the drama and thrill to make the audience feel like they are there in the film, it engages them into the film.
Post-Production:
- We used final cut pro to edit our scenes, we added sound effects of punching, heart beat at the start of our film which created realism and added suspense.
- We removed scenes which didn't portray what we wanted.
- We edited out some scenes due to the sound on them such as footsteps or laughter which was picked up by the camera in the scenes which we had to crop out.
- We posted it on Youtube so that we could have others to see it and have reviews.

WWW:
As a group we worked well, we had agreed on a genre, we had all participated in ideas. We created our own characters which we agreed on and changed it our self for it to match the movie.
EBI:
we had worked as a team however it felt quite one sided we had ideas but some were not approved due to laziness of redoing scenes and having to go to the locations.
our editing skills were quite lazy, we had added a funny comment at the end of the film to make the audience laugh even though our film was a action film and not comedy.
could have had more scenes which were more properly edited however it was our first time doing the editing and filming so we did have fun with it.
Outcome:
we have learnt many new techniques such as how to use camera and the settings it has such as, the tripod being used for stationary scenes, the zoom ins and outs, the hand held camera uses and the first person view for the camera.
we also have learnt how to use the editing software such as adding in sound effects, visual effects and cropping and moving the scenes in addition removing the audio from the scene and adding a dialogue voice over or narration.

Spectre (Mendes, 2015)
Spectre (Mendes, 2015)
Best Bits of trailer:
'They say you are finished i just think you are getting started' this is a powerful line to have at the start because we know the other James bond series and they proved how this one is different as they have more to offer which can intrigue the audience to carry on watching as its different from the previous James bond series. Action and driving scenes 'it can go from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds' this is powerful as for an action film and for car fanatics they can enjoy and be pulled into such film due to the gadgets and equipment which is there there's cars, planes stunt jumps shown which are thrilling they make you jump and be involved when the film starts.
Genre of film:
Action style film it is more aimed at audiences such as teenagers of 16 and more mature viewers who enjoy action and explosions its more targeted at males due to the explosions, gun scenes, fast cars and technology shown.
Actors and Actresses:
James Bond is played by Daniel Craig which is shown from the beginning as he is the focus of the camera he is shown in the spotlight which indicates to an audience that he is the main character in the film. He looks like our conventional James bond whos smart looking.
Fast visual images:
planes flying past, side by side the cars which creates adrenaline, cars exploding, them falling off the elevator, van being shot through with bullets to fast car chases and drifts which are dangerous and wouldn't be done in real life. Near the end of the trailer there is a boat chase, then car chase to a car driving past a building to him aiming his gun to the rolling credit screen.

Voice overs:
'Crossing to a place where there is no mercy' that makes the audience intrigued as they want to know why he's going there, what makes him go there, why will there be no mercy if he goes there and why does he have to be picked to go there?. 'Do you know who links them all?- ME' this is shown after he looks at a monument where his name is spelt in red which could be blood which shows the trouble he is in and that he's a powerful weapon.
Music in background:
The iconic James Bond Theme can be heard playing in the background over the clips and dialogue which can be quickly picked up by the audience as they would be familiar with it from the previous films with James bond., when the action/fast paced scenes are being shown the theme song is in the background which gives the film originality and style of a classic spy which gets away with things. in addition there is a song which is sang by 'Sam smith'- writings on the wall which was recorded just because of the film which if you haven't seen the film you would recognise the song by the famous artist.

Distributors:

Even if people have not seen spectre they could guess that its a good and properly distributed film due to these distributors that have their logo shown at the beginning of film to give the audience an idea on who distributed the film and helped it to be promoted. if they know these logos then they will be familiar with the films distributed by these companies.

Best bits:
'Prepare to pay an ultimate price' this stands out as it makes us think as an audience why do they have to pay a price, who's behind all of this pain and action, why cant it be stopped and what price is there to pay and for what? is it life being sacrificed but to what? which would intrigue the audience with such words. 'if we burn, you burn with us' it gives a sense of unity that the characters and setting is about that if they do something to her they will pay for their actions it shows her motives of setting free and being the hero by trying to protect the people from evil which would intrigue the audience to watch as they would want to find out why people are hurting and why they would try and do something to the people.
Genre of film:
The Genre feels like its more futuristic and action based on a fake world created by imagination which would be targeted at Youths so teens above 15 which are into films with action and suspense it contains lots of fires, battles, problems and weapons which would attract teens more than adults due to it having a fast paced story line with lots of action and close quarter battles.
Actors and actresses:
The Actors and actresses are not mentioned due to the previous 'Hunger Games' having it mentioned in as this is not the first hunger games so they decided not to put in the trailer as most people are familiar with hunger games and their actors such as 'Jennifer Lawrence' or 'Josh Hutcherson' they decided to include their faces instead of names due to them being already famous from the previous films and sequels to hunger games which would have made their movie careers more popular and them more known.
Fast visual images:
From fighting scenes with guns, and army against one person 'Catniss', her blowing up spaceships with her bow and arrow, grey landscape to fire and destruction occurring in the town to floods and unity being formed by all the civilians to buildings collapsing which shown an impact of action and thriller as there's violence and brutality going on.

One line conversations shown/Voice overs to tell a story:
'No-one else can do this but her' makes the audience want to know who is she? and its a great way to open the film as it makes us want to watch and find out why her? which intrigues the audience to carry on watching due to the ambiguity of character. It makes the audience want to know why her? what significance is it if its her? what can she do to save the world?. 'They're coming Catniss' this is powerful because it will make the audience intrigued in what is coming and why its coming which will catch their attention to other scenes shown in the trailer. This quote will make the audience think who's coming after them and why there's gun scenes and people in armour.
Credits on screen:

Music type:
After the first credits of 'November 21' dramatic music starts playing which leads to other scenes and action which creates a sense of intense action and fight scenes which wont be easy to beat. The ending it contains a whistle noise which is associated to the 'Hunger Games' its their song which they have produced which matches the ending.
Title appearance and impact:
The title shows a great impact due to it being paired with the theme song created for film it matches the suspense left behind with loud music ending with the whistle sound track. The title is clear and bright it is moving with the fire dispersing which creates an effect of freedom. It has all the symbols associated with Hunger Games such as the mocking jay which is symbolic to the film.

This is the symbol of the hunger games which would have been seen and known by lots of people so even if the audience don't know this film they have definetly come across this logo which would have been advertised with the other 'Hunger games'

Sponsors/ distributors:

This 'LIONSGATE' logo is shown at the beginning of the film which is important as this distributor is known for their good films which shows that this one will also be a big hit. this sets the film as if you have never seen this film but know this distributor you would familiar with their other films which can give you an image of what this film will be about due to other film distributed by this distributor.
